Why innovation is new fuel for prosperity of Indian economy

From thousands of years human has evolved with time. New inventions made by man adopted by others . From Industrial revolution to IT revolution has brought the prosperity in  nations taking the lead in innovations. 

Why India require PSU's


While Industrial revolution in England, Germany and France created their dominance in the world. 


During world war II Japan was one of the major power in the world but Atomic bomb explosion at Hiroshima and Nagasaki demolished its economy .What led Japan to retain its glory is the innovation in technology .Metro Train running in Japan although not the fastest in the world but is the safest and most punctual in the world. 

Why India is lagging in Innovation

While we expect our country to be center of innovation still we are importing major technology form Europe and other countries .If India really wants to prosper and become a developed country in coming years, we have to invest in research and development to encourage innovation. While going through list of country-wise expenditure on research and development we can easily understand where we stand in the world. While Israel spends 4.3 % ,South Korea spends 4.29%, Finland spends 3.17%, Sweden spends 3.16% ,Japan spends  3.14% of its GDP on R& D ,India just spends 0.85% of GDP on R&D. India stands at 44th place in the spending on R&D work.

This is the Gap India need to fulfill if we want bring in change in the country and reduce dependence on imports of technology. On the other hand we can say in future R&D and innovation will decide the economic prosperity of the our country .


Importance of R&D


Israel is great example to understand the importance of R&D and innovation for the growth of the nation. Israel once a small nation surrounded by Islamic countries and facing terrorism  having a troubled economy but with its  political will and transformation in technology now Israel is way ahead in Agriculture, technology, cyberspace ,defence , Infrastructure . Several  policies adopted by Narendra Modi Government are somewhat similar to the steps taken by Israel's Netanyahu Government. Promoting private sector , limiting Government sector and cutting Government spending , reducing bureaucracy involvement are the few steps which seems to be inspired from the  Israel's reforms. Although India doesn't spend too much on R&D but present Government has taken various Initiatives which may Improve R&D work in India.

1.Make in India 


Make in India is an initiative to bring in major companies in India for production in India .Thus reducing India's dependence on Imports and bring new technology. While it will cut imports it will increase exports . India a attractive destination for investment due to low cost labour and huge young workforce. While many countries are struggling to find young workforce ,India is the youngest nation of the world.

2.Skill India

While India is having sufficient young workforce, biggest challenge is that India is not having sufficient skilled labour .To overcome this difficulty Government of India launched this scheme to make young Generation skilled by providing training in various fields.

3.Start Up India

This is an Initiative to promote Entrepreneurship in the young Generation ,while earlier setting up business in India was quite difficult India has shown keen interest to streamline process to set new start Ups easily so that young Entrepreneurs which used to go abroad to start a business could start their business easily in India. Government of India set up a separate Start Up fund tom promote start ups in India.

Although Indian Government not made very significant expenditure in R&D in these years .It has promoted R&D by taking Initiative of Make in India and Start Up India .Although in shorter term results are not visible but in longer run definitely it is going to effect economy and national development.

Skills to survive in the era of artificial intelligence

With the increasing automation in this world employment avenues for humans are drying up day by day. In a report it is estimated that 40 % of unemployment in USA is generated  only due to automation in the industry. What will be scene once artificial intelligence will work everywhere is the big question.



How Artificial Intelligence can Effect employment?


As the name suggest artificial intelligence  is created  by  man artificially using software programming to use it in machines. This intelligence is  meant to use to solve the circumstantial problems ,like a man does. Whereas automation is simply doing the same thing repeatedly using machines and preset command software ,in place of a man.

Although automation has caused man loss of employment but still at places where, circumstantial decision making is required , machines are not able to replace man till now. But with the invent of artificial intelligence these places can also be occupied by machines powered with artificial intelligence.





Then how future generations can Survive in the era of Artificial intelligence?


In future to get employment and earn livelihood next generation need to be creative . Only creativity is the thing which can not be achieved using artificial intelligence.

Which are the fields to explore in future 


As I earlier stated that creativity is the only thing by which man can survive in the era of AI powered machines. Few examples where AI powered machines not likely to replace man are stated below:

Writing


While creating great content to read , there is nothing great what Artificial intelligence can do ,as it can use only existing data available to it , it can not generate its own content.



Designing



Designing is one other field where man can bring in new ideas which machines powered with AI can't do.


Medical surgeries



Although now days robotic arms are used in many surgeries but critical nuero and spinal surgeries can't be done without human intervention and it won't be easy to do so in future also because even a minor mistake can be disastrous.In such case artificial intelligence can't be trusted to be used in place of human.



Negotiations & dialogues


This is one crucial thing which takes places in businesses , between countries , settlement of personal disputes and require understanding to tackle unpredictable circumstance ,which can't be achieved using artificial intelligence.

Art & Music



Artificial intelligence can't work to develop art like dance & music . These things are gifts of god & only human can excel in these fields not machines.

Research and Development


R&D is one other field where machines with artificial intelligence can't replace humans. 

Summary

In nutshell the future is all about creativity, all repetitive wok will be replaced by machines powered with artificial intelligence. It is better to be aware than to be spectator.

What is Artificial Intelligence?


"Artificial Intelligence is system’s ability to correctly interpret external data, to learn from such data, and to use those learnings to achieve specific goals and tasks through flexible adaptation" in other terms it can be said that , Artificial Intelligence is intelligence developed in machines by human to analyse,react  like human using computer program or software.





This can be understood by the example ,if you want to go somewhere and  need to call a cab ,you can just give a voice command to machine powered with artificial intelligence , that machine can book you a cab with the given destination at desired time.



This is just one example but there are lot of other things which Artificial intelligence can do .

Although artificial intelligence has not reached to its epitome yet ,it is still having number of applications right now .

Driverless cars has been already tested  & is operational in Texas. Soon it will be operational worldwide. As the name suggests these cars doesn't require drivers to drive but it works on artificial Intelligence ,using GPS ,route maps etc. These cars can understand visual signals like traffic signals and voice  of human  .






Using artificial Intelligence these cars can select best routes depending on traffic and traffic signal timings to reach the destination at shortest possible time.




Smart Home Appliances 


These devices are making inroads to homes , Amazon Echo  and Google smart speaker ,Home assistant are the devices using cloud based  artificial intelligence. These devices can understand human voice and accordingly work on behalf of man . These devices are capable of making calls, booking appointments, movie tickets, telling answers to your query searching on the internet .

In the medical fields it can be a game changer.In critical surgeries great precision and accuracy is required any minor mistake can cause threat to life of a patient . Robotic arms with artificial intelligence can really be a boon .Although robotic arms are being used in surgeries now a days but with human intervention.



Machines with Artificial intelligence can understand human behavior , symptoms of diseases and timely detect diseases & epidemic before they spread .





Artificial intelligence can save lot of time as huge data can be processed and analysed within seconds which is not possible for a human being .

Although this aspect of artificial intelligence is being ignored at this time but surely it will  be matter of concern in future. Every technology has its bad effects so are of artificial intelligence.




Artificial intelligence once reached to common man it will be affect efficiency of human ,Recently a case was reported in USA , when a kid took help from Alexa to solve his mathematics problem given by his mom. This is just a small example where artificial intelligence can be misused. 




Machines with artificial intelligence will definitely become a threat to employment. As machines can work round the clock, powered with AI  machines will become more efficient than man. Automation itself has increased unemployement in developed countries .When artificial intelligence will make inroads to industry it will definitely minimise human intervention thus employement is going to be major concern in future.






Various hollywood movies have already crated hypothetical situation of battle between man and machines, which may be reality sooner or later with growing use of artificial intelligence.

How Wireless Network is created?


To create wireless network , access points are to be installed which can be connected by Laptops , mobiles and other wireless devices, thus making a wireless network.

Wireless Internet

When access points for wireless network are connected to Internet or Wide area network all the device connected with the access points are connected to Internet Service.

Difference between Wireless Internet service and Mobile Internet service



While it seems as there is no difference in Wireless Internet service and mobile internet service But Wireless Internet service has limitation that it is available upto certain range , while Mobile internet can be accessed anywhere with availability of mobile network.

Mobile internet services are not standalone services as voice services are provided along with internet while wireless internet service provides Internet service alone.

Types of Wireless Internet Services


Hotspots, and Wi-Fi broadband are the wireless Internet services while 3G & 4G provides mobile Internet services. 

Wireless Internet Service providers

Telecom operators AIRTEL and BSNL provides wireless internet services. BSNL provides wireless internet services using HotSpots and Broadband Wi-fi.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has already installed more than 15000 public wi-fi hotspots at famous tourist places and important places.

BSNL also provides Wi-fi broadband in all major cities. This wi-fi broadband service of BSNL is having very good download and upload speeds and can cover upto 5 km of distance from BSNL exchange.


Google’s project Loon for Wireless Internet


In 2016 Google was allowed to test its Project loon in India to provide wireless Internet. Project loon is a project of Google to provide internet services using floating balloons at 20 Km height in stratosphere above earth. Using these balloons Google can provide transmission of internet service. This project is already tested in New Zealand, California and Brazil.

Google was demanding spectrum in 700 Mhz to test this project but Government rejected this request and suggested to partner with telecom operators. While Google was in talks with Government Owned BSNL for Spectrum sharing ,this project could not be kick started in the need of permission from DGCA citing security reasons and no clear policy.


According to project loon website the life of such balloons is 190 days and data transfer can take place between two balloons upto distance of 100 km making network of these balloons and bu connecting them to service provider on the earth these balloons can provide wireless internet speed upto 10 Mbps to the consumers.
 This project is of great importance for far-flung areas where providing and maintaining  Internet services is really difficult.
